The OPEK HR-22 BNC-male portable antenna is composed of six telescopic sections with black anodized finish. Extends from 10-1 / 4 "(265mm) collapsed to 42-1 / 2" (1080mm) extended. Set the length to 1/4 of the wavelength of the operating frequency. Suitable for portable radio amateur transceivers and scanning receivers with BNC female antenna plugs.
TECHNICAL FEATURES OPEK-22: 135-155 MHz Tx frequency range with VSWR <1.5: 1, Rx range 25-1200MHz, gain sensitivity up to 3.5 dBi, 10-1 / 4 "range at 42-1 / 2 ", BNC connector.
For transmission, you should set the antenna length as close as possible to the 1/4 wavelength of the transmit frequency. This ensures the best possible transmission by using the right standing wave ratio (SWR). Use this formula to calculate the appropriate length for a 1/4 wavelength transmit antenna: 2834 / Freq. in MHz = Length of the antenna in inches. Example: 2834/147 (MHz) = 19.3 inches.
For optimal reception with a hand-held scanner, set the antenna length as shown below.
Extends the full length for reception of 25-50 MHz (VHF Low), 50-54 MHz (amateur radio), 108-136 MHz (Aircraft).
Extend sections greater than 19 "for the reception of 138-144 MHz (government) 144-148 MHz (amateur radio) 148-174 MHz (VHF high).
Spread on one to three of the lower sections for the reception of 220 MHz (Ham) 380-450 MHz (UHF Low) 470-512 MHz (UHF TV) 800-900 MHz 1296 MHz (amateur radio).
