• Amplifier VL-1000 for HF amateur radio

For a clear signal. Yaesu VL-1000 / VP-1000 QUADRA SYSTEM linear HF amplifiers belong to your amateur radio station. These amplifiers use an innovative RF Quadra Push-Pull design for 1 kW Solid State MOSFET power. Yaesu engineers took up the challenge of providing a high power of 160 to 6 meters. Special attention to system grounding and RF shunt guarantees very low noise emissions, even at maximum power. The associated VP-1000 power supply operates from 120 or 240 VAC and provides output power of 500 or 1,000 watts, depending on the line voltage. The VL-1000 HF amplifier is designed with reliability as the main objective. Extensive monitoring of heat, current, input dimmer and other parameters allows the microprocessor to control the protection circuits with ultra-fast response time. And the extended design of the heat sink provides a huge margin of safety for cooling the PA and other components. Utilizing eight robust MOS FET MRF-150 power transistors in a four-module push-pull configuration, the Yaesu design team has taken up the difficult challenge of providing high output power with low parasitic emission and reliability high. When using most modern Yaesu amateur radios, the band information is transferred between the transceiver and the VL-1000, allowing an automatic band change on the amplifier when you change band on the transmitter receiver. The VL-1000 also provides automatic band switching via a frequency sensing circuit, when used with other exciters; just press the "F-SET" button to detect the frequency and change the band. Offering easy integration into your Yaesu multi-rig, the VL-1000 includes two input jacks as well as four output jacks (antennas). The microprocessor automatically selects the correct combination of connectors, based on your original configuration, so you should never launch switches when you change the tape. The built-in automatic antenna tuner is designed to attenuate minor impedance variations in your antenna system, ensuring full power output without endangering amplifier circuitry due to excessive RF voltage. And unlike some solid-state HF amplifiers, if you forget to turn on the auto-tuner but the amplifier encounters a SWR slightly greater than 2: 1, the VL-1000 will not go off, instead of this, it first switches to low power (500 W), to allow you to try to make contact. A further reduction in power will occur, of course, if a serious SWR anomaly exists.
